Computer scam.

We have heard of the following computer scam. At present we have not had the opportunity to check it out.

You receive a phone call, supposedly from your service provider, which explains to you how to remove a virus from your computer and allow the broadband connection to run faster. The instruction is to enter a given code into the 'RUN' command window. This code, if entered, will allow remote access to the personal details held on your computer.

We do not know at present whether this warning is genuine, but our advice remains the same:-
Always be suspicious of unsolicited phone calls that ask you to do anything to your phone or computer. Always check with your service provider, using a number given previously, NOT any telephone number given during the call.
