Energy Suppliers - Salesmen.

An Energy Supply Company appears to have a concentrated sales campaign in Birstall this week.
We have received reports and complaints from our members regarding the tactics used and these have been passed on to Trading Standards.
The salesmen give a misleading explanation of who they are and ask to inspect the meter. They then tell the householder that they are on the wrong tariff and ask to see recent fuel bills. At this point they now have all the information necessary to change your fuel supplier.
We believe their tactics are deliberately misleading and confusing. These people do not have any right of access to your property.

Any organisation/company that needs to enter your property will make a prior appointment. This applies to all energy/utility companies.

You've won the lottery! But did you enter?

This letter was handed in to one of our Advice Shops. It looks very convincing - you've won a lottery!

But did you actually enter the lottery? You've got to be in it to win it! Or in this case, if you put in your bank details, be prepared to lose it!

Never give your bank details away like this - whether by post, email, on the phone or at your doorstep.
