Police appeal for whereabouts of car stolen from Birstall

Police are appealing for information on the current whereabouts of a stolen Volkswagen Passat that was taken during a burglary in Birstall.
The incident happened at a house in Goscote Hall Road sometime between 1.15pm on Friday January 27 and 3pm on Wednesday February 1, when it was discovered that a window at the back of the house had been smashed.
Once inside it was found that a Dell laptop, a Lenovo laptop, a 42” Panasonic plasma television, a purple Kathy Stevens bracelet and a pearl necklace had all been taken.
Officers are particularly keen to locate the missing black Volkswagen Passat, vehicle registration AF55 UXA.
Detective Constable Glen Reid, the investigating officer, said: “The owners are understandably upset that someone has entered their home and are keen to have their belongings back, in particular their stolen car.
“If you have seen the car since the burglary I would urge you to call us. Perhaps you know someone who has recently acquired the car? Maybe you recognise the registration number or have been offered the car to buy?
“If you know anything about the whereabouts of the car or the people responsible for the burglary please contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 2061 Glen Reid on 101, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number 2061. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
