Burglary at opticians in Birstall

Officers from Charnwood local policing unit are appealing for public help after a burglary at an opticians in Birstall.
The incident took place at about 10.30pm on Thursday December 8 at Henry Smith and Hamylton Opticians in Sibson Road when the premises was broken into and a number of frames were damaged or stolen.
Various makes of frames were either stolen or damaged during the incident including Prada, Versace, Ted Baker, Rayban and Prestige Elegance.
PC Steve Denny is investigating the incident, he said: “We would appeal to anyone who has been approached by someone selling similar frames in the last month to contact us.
“The Prestige Elegance frames are exclusive and only available at this opticians, if you know anything about these frames or the incident please contact us.”
Anyone with any information about the incident or the frames is asked to contact PC 1018 Steve Denny on 101*, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1018. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free** and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
